Life Skill Development Training Program was organized by Treasures of Innocence.

Our destination on 16th April was Khalisakota Adarsha Vidyalaya for Girls in Italgacha. The entire five-member team from Treasures of Innocence arrived on time and was greeted with a warm welcome by the Teacher in charge.

We were asked to make ourselves comfortable in the large hall on the first floor of the school building for the whole day training session. The school building was quite neat and clean and had a beautifully done playground inside the premises. Though the day was hot and sultry the happy smiling faces of the young girls of the ninth and tenth standard could not dampen the team spirit.

The session began with Treasures of Innocence introduction followed by meditation. Subsequent presentations on relevant topics like Power of mind, Animal s and human beings, Health and Hygiene, Social media, Mobile phone usage, Child Abuse, Child trafficking, etc were shown to the girls. There were interactive sessions and several interesting short videos were also shown to the girls. Before the lunch break, the entire group of 120 girls was subdivided into 10 teams and each team was asked to choose a topic on which they would plan and then enact a short play.

The girls seemed to be very excited by this group activity and took a lot of interest in staging the small plays. Post lunch break Treasures of Innocence team made the girls engaged in fun activities and games. The girls responded to these games with a lot of enthusiasm.

Few more socially relevant topics were again discussed like child marriage, What is your Mt Everest, etc. The day ended with lots of cheers from the young audience and it was a sheer joy to watch them sway and dance merrily to the rhythm of music videos playing.

The girls had enjoyed their Life Skill Training Program to the fullest as the joy that shone in their faces made it evident. That was the biggest accolade which the Treasures of Innocence team achieved that day.
