My first day at Treasures of Innocence- Damayanti Das

My first day at Treasures of Innocence, I had butterflies in my stomach. I had no idea what I was in for. With a lot of self doubt in my heart and lack of confidence I rang the door bell of Treasures of Innocence at 10:00 in the morning. As I walked in, little did I know, my life was about to change. As I stated before, I had no idea what was going on or what was expected of me. Rani Bhowani was my teacher at TISS-SVE. Always smiling and encouraging. Working here would be a piece of cake. I thought I would come on the allotted days, do what was expected of me and leave. End of internship I would get my internship documents signed and leave. That would be the end of that. Little did I know on that first day, how wrong I was.

Treasures of Innocence as an organisation, the staff, Rani Bhowani Madam, slowly but surely built up my shattered confidence day by day. By giving me the responsibilities of different projects, applauding when I succeeded and picking me up and dusting me off when I failed. Everyone at Treasures of Innocence, made me realize that nothing is impossible. If I try, I can achieve anything. I cannot give up. After 35 years in this world, apart from my parents, it was Rani Madam and her team of super heroes that showed confidence and belief in me. It worked wonders. I am no longer afraid to venture new horizons. I am forever grateful to Treasures of Innocence, especially to Rani Madam, for seeing and polishing the talent in me. I have found my passion. Thank you Treasures of Innocence, Rani Madam, whatever little I am today is because of you. Treasures of Innocence…HIP HIP HURRAY!!!
