Rani Bhowani, Founder

Rani Bhowani is the Founder of Treasures of Innocence. A Masters in Economics and an MBA from Calcutta University, Rani worked many years in the corporate sector. However, her true passion lies with social development. So, she quit her job from senior management position and started working with underprivileged children and youth of The City of Joy. Her constant endeavor is to empower innocent minds with education, teaching them to dream big and to lead life with courage, curiosity, confidence and creativity. She made her passion come to life by creating Treasures of Innocence. A place for underprivileged children to learn and strive to be successful adults. Her dream is to create a collaboration of education and opportunities for needy children, irrespective of caste, gender and social background through empathy and encouragement. A natural painter who loves to experiment with colors started designing creative curriculum and community based social programmes to bring out the full potential of children and to develop fully functional individuals.

Devashish Majumdar

Mr. Devashish Majumdar, an engineer by trade, is a senior executive in a global multinational company. He has more than three decades of wide ranging education career to his credit. He has also worked in TATA, from where he gets his desire for social work. He strongly believes in the teachings of Jamshedji Tata. Mr. Majumdar started his journey as a social worker in the 1990’s by working with Adivasi Development in Jharkand. In 2016, he joined team Treasures of Innocence. He offered his leadership on behalf of the Global Outreach Program of a multinational corporation. He also brings to the table an instinctive empathy and connection with people. He has traveled extensively throughout India to understand the education system and its gaps.

Amit Shankar Das Mazumder

For the last 25 years Mr. Amit Shankar Das Mazumdar has worked extensively in the government service as a senior land reforms officer. He has always been passionate about social work. He has always wanted to work with the less fortunate and vulnerable part of the society. As expressed by Mr. Das Mazumdar, being a part of Treasures of Innocence satisfies his desire to be a part of something good. He takes a lot of interest in painting. With this gift of arts, he shares colorful lessons with the children of Treasures of Innocence. He also provides his expertise in strategizing as well as fine tuning small details to make Treasures of Innocence, a success.

Sharmistha Seal Dey

“Teachers: the real heroes, who don’t wear capes. They teach” – Anonymous

This is the perfect description of Ms. Dey, a passionate teacher, who leaves no stones unturned to inspire and appreciate children. Her specialty is to inculcate model behavior and manners in students, so that they can function well in society.  As a trained professional in leadership training service, she is presently mentoring at Treasures of Innocence, teaching the children to be civilized and successful adults. Away from her busy schedule, she is a voracious reader and a classical dancer.

Sima Bhattacharyya

The sun shines brighter when Ms. Bhattacharyya enters a room. Be it a school or our centre. With her energetic personality and vivacious smile, she glows in the presence of our children. Her aim is to bring a smile or the roar of laughter in these underprivileged children, who otherwise do not have a lot to smile about. This is her passion. Love can conquer all is her motto in life. She works with the children of Treasures of Innocence, extensively.

Dilip Kr Bhowani

“If there is a will, there is a way”, this is the phrase that is most applicable to Mr. Bhowani. An active member of Treasures of Innocence, he is passionate about child education and welfare. He has hugely interacted with people from all strata of society. He always extends his helping hand towards the needy person and he has worked with underprivileged children for a long time. He is the strong shoulder, at Treasures of Innocence, whose creativity and knowledge is relied upon.

Subhabrata Ghose

Mr. Ghose is an alumnus of IIEST, Sibpur; IISW & BM, Kolkata and BITS, Pilani. He has almost two and half decades of experience in IT industry, having worked extensively in India and abroad. He is currently in senior position of an MNC. His hobbies include quizzing and travelling. He was involved with the Interact Club (student wing of Rotary Club) in his school days. Later during his employment he has spearheaded the CSR activities of his corporate portfolio that included working with schools where under privileged children went (learning through quiz, spoken English, computer literacy, setting up library etc.).

Shibani Bhattacharjee

Shibani is a dance teacher. Her vibrant personality, infectious smile, joyous laughter brings smiles all around her students. Her work with needy people and children is well known. She is very popular amongst her students and fellow teachers. Her passion for her work is infectious. Ms. Bhattacharjee continuously encourages the children of Treasures of Innocence to express themselves via dance and music.

Samujjwal Banerjee

Mr. Banerjee was in the IT industry for about 12 years. After an MCA and stints in IT companies in various parts of India and then Middle East he came back to Kolkata. He runs a few businesses and looks to associate with charitable causes. While on the lookout to contribute and give back to the society he was looking for genuine NGOs that he could associate himself with. This led him to ToI and especially its tireless work on education of the underprivileged children. The journey has been rewarding, as expected. He is ever glad to remain associated with such a selfless noble cause of ToI.

Ashok Ray 

He is passionate about social welfare activities especially into child education and health care. Holds master degrees in Chemistry and Management as well. Headed Dept of Environment of a Rayon Industry. Headed Marketing Division of an organization that is pioneer in RO and UF system in India. Currently serves as Regional head of a chemical manufacturing company. Has involvement in supporting education to under privileged rural girls

Santanu Bhattacharjee

He is a Founder Director of Britti Prosikshan Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, West Bengal.

Sunny’s 25 years in the industry includes extensive ICT experience in USA & India spanning hands on systems development and solutions implementation to corporate management and then entrepreneurship. During the tenure he has served MNCs (Nortel, MCI) and start ups in various management, executive and consulting capacities.

After 18 years in mainstream industry, Sunny initiated a social enterprise (Technable) with goal to have direct social benefit as primary yield. It is with St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata that the idea of offering employment linked training to underprivileged youth at the base of pyramid (BoP) was first conceived in March 2004. Sunny’s fascination to livelihood thru’ skill is because, when a person gets gainfully engaged in sustained income generating activity a family of average 6 members is benefited in long term. In April 2005, Technable was inducted as implementation partner in the “Centre of Excellence for IT/ITeS Assessment and Training”, a consortium initiated by the Dept. of IT, Govt. of West Bengal and the University of Calcutta for HR development in the state. In 2011, this venture is being scaled-up with funding and ecosystem support from National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Govt. of India. Technable also offers corporate training in communication skills, soft skills and telecom technologies and plans to offer programs in project management and emerging technologies in near future.

Sudipto Sengupta

Has a Masters in Urban Planning from Virginia Tech, Sudipto has extensive experience in development planning and program management for large government. He has provided advisory to Government of India for Poverty Reduction Programme and for Planning Commission to help design the Tsunami Rehabilitation Programme. He has worked in India, Ghana, and Nepal. His initiative of running a challenge fund for promoting innovations has now been mainstreamed by Government of India. He is regularly invited by AMU and BHU to talk to students on the Power of Ideas. He has conducted Leadership Training Program with Corporate Executives both at government and non-government sectors.

Tarak Nath Shaw

He is a Chartered Accountant and a Law Graduate with over 18 years of experience in UN Organizations, International NGOs, Development & Social Sector and Corporates. He has rich experience of Development Project Planning, Implementation, both directly and through partnership with Local NGOs. Adept in conducting due diligence of NGOs and has knowledge and hands on experience of managing grants of International Donor Agencies. Skilled in mapping, conducting due diligence and devising NGO partnership plans, goals, outputs, performance indicators and development of project strategies. Well conversant with the Statutory Laws and Compliance requirements for NPOs regarding  Indian Income Tax Act, Service Tax, Foreign Contribution Regulation Act etc. He has contributed to this sector by capacity building of grass root organizations in area of Grant Management and Reporting.

Shibaji Mukherjee

He is an IT professional with experience of working for very noted MNC’s and large organizations both in India and abroad. He is passionate about social causes and movements and has been actively involved with various social organizations working in this domain. He has been an adviser to many start-ups and has been involved in setting up offshore units for MNC’s. He has got a Masters in Physics from Calcutta University and also a Masters in Physics from Northeastern University, Boston.

Debarati M Saha

She did her Masters in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute. With her extensive experience in the IT sector, she works with a very renowned IT consulting firm for more than 20 years and her domain of focus is financial industry. She is passionate about social welfare initiatives. She has conducted leadership training programs with corporate executives.
