Stories of Transformation
(Real Lives. Real Change. Real Impact.)

Swagata Chatterjee

From Sacrifice to Self-Discovery

Empowered through Art & Financial Independence

In the quiet lanes of Garia, Swagata devoted her life to caring for her child with autism, silencing her own dreams in the process. A visit to Proyash changed her path. Surrounded by colors and canvases, she rediscovered her long-lost artistic spirit.
What began as simple fabric painting for joy soon grew into hand-painted kurtas and pradeeps admired by many. Each brushstroke strengthened her confidence and led her to financial self-reliance.
Swagata’s journey proves that creativity can rebuild identity and carve a future brimming with dignity and hope.

Krishna Patra

From Hardship to Hope

Turning Struggles into Strength

After losing her father early in life, Krishna’s childhood was marked by extreme poverty—collecting waste and working as a domestic helper for ₹50–100 a month. She came to ToI seeking opportunities for her daughter, but found one for herself too.
Today, she stands proudly as an artist and craftswoman, displaying her work in exhibitions and supporting her daughter’s education.
Her story reflects the transformative power of opportunities and resilience that turns survival into success.

Payel Patra

From Paintbrush to Pixels

Blending Tradition with Technology

A gifted young artist, Payel entered ToI’s Computer Learning & AI Program with curiosity and passion. She learned to combine traditional painting with digital creativity, producing stunning AI-generated art.
Guided by her mother’s encouragement, Payel now dreams of becoming a future-ready professional artist.
Her story celebrates the rise of a new generation where art meets innovation.

Adhyayan Barman

From ‘Why?’ to ‘Wow!’

The Rise of a Little Scientist

With curiosity as his compass, 12-year-old Adhyayan explored broken gadgets and scraps to build new creations. Through ToI’s STEM and AI programs, he developed real projects, including a smart temperature-based mini fan made from junk.
He became the champion of the Annual Little Scientist program and now dreams of becoming an inventor who builds for the planet.
His story shows how curiosity, when nurtured, can turn possibilities into progress.

Shiuli Das

The Girl Who Carried Books and Burdens

A Story of Courage, Responsibility, and Aspiration

Twelve-year-old Shiuli from Kalikapur balances household responsibilities, water collection, caregiving, and school—yet holds an unshakeable dream of becoming a teacher.
Through ToI’s child-centered learning and leadership support, Shiuli found the confidence to dream louder and lead with purpose.
Her journey highlights how creative educational support can transform adversity into ambition.
